The Planetarium of Prague, located in the administrative centre of Bubeneč, is one of the largest planetariums in the world. Despite having opened 57 years ago, its 23.5-metre-high dome and projection surface of 867 m2, continues to be highly popular with city residents and visitors. Unlike the observatory, which operates in the Czech capital, this science centre enables visitors to observe the stars and planets at any time of the day. Even in the event of bad weather, the optomechanical and digital systems installed manage to create a perfect illusion of the universe.
The Prague Planetarium is also renowned for the fact that the Cosmorama Hall can accommodate 210 people at one time. Inside, it is possible to monitor space objects in real time.
